Oh Hey

Pardon my cliche fall post, but HELLO FALL! The cool weather has finally hit the south and I will admit that it feels fantastic. But not as fantastic as it felt to dig out this sweater from my closet- I bought this last spring at J. Crew and I have been dying to wear it. But I feel like people would question me if I pulled it out while the temperatures were still in the triple digits. I’ll admit- when I woke up this morning and say that it was 43 degrees, I was like, “um, no thanks, not today”, but I came around as soon as I discovered this little ensemble. Today when my college counselor asked me how I was, I practically screamed at him that I was “embracing fall”. Well. This outfit just seemed so fall-ish to me that I needed to tell someone. And I needed that person to appreciate it. So there.

The French Quarter

So on my final day in New Orleans, I got to do typical tourist stuff: go eat beignets at Cafe du Monde, explore artwork on the sidewalks, and peak into the mardi gras stores that line the streets of the French Quarter. I loved my short little vacation there and I definitely hope that one day I can go back. In this outfit, I tried to channel my inner French girl, which definitely meant that I needed a striped sweater and a red silk scarf.

P.S. Sorry for the crazy hair and face- it was a very, very late night at the game.

Tiger Bait

This weekend I got to go to New Orleans! A ton of my mom’s family went to the University of Washington, who just do happened to be playing LSU this weekend! And I will take any excuse to go to New Orleans. While I dressed ambiguously to avoid any heckling, my cousins were decked out in their UDUB attire, so nearly every LSU fan we passed yelled “TIGER BAIT” at us. But that was to be expected. We stayed at the lovely Waldorf Astoria in the French Quarter and ate some of the best food! I can’t wait to go back!

Laborless Weekend

Let me just tell you about my weekend- even though its wednesday… Well it was a long weekend so I’m not too off, right? Ok well I got to go down to Starkville with my family to see the Mississippi State Bulldogs beat Jackson State! And we had a fabulous tailgate and after party 🙂 Then, when I came home, a bunch of friends and I headed to fair! Except when we got there it started POURING rain. So we got soaking wet, but still had a great time! It was so much fun to just have a weekend where I got to see my friends and family. It doesn’t matter what happens when you are having fun with the people around you!!
