The French Quarter

So on my final day in New Orleans, I got to do typical tourist stuff: go eat beignets at Cafe du Monde, explore artwork on the sidewalks, and peak into the mardi gras stores that line the streets of the French Quarter. I loved my short little vacation there and I definitely hope that one day I can go back. In this outfit, I tried to channel my inner French girl, which definitely meant that I needed a striped sweater and a red silk scarf.

P.S. Sorry for the crazy hair and face- it was a very, very late night at the game.

School Days, School Days

I survived the first half of my week! But it is seriously exhausting. Now I know why old people are so tired all the time… I don’t really have anything witty to say. I used all my brain power while I was at school. Sorry y’all. I promise I will try and sleep up to become my fabulous, funny self once again (just kidding).

Maybe it’s because I’ve been watching High School Musical and Disney melted my brain. Peace out

Hot Pink

Yesterday was my last day of my internship! Sad face! But is was seriously one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I learned so much from all the fabulous women at the magazine and I’m hoping I can go back and work for them again! But enough sadness. I got to wear my favorite skirt yesterday! This skirt is SO flowy, and whenever I walk, it seriously has the prettiest flow behind me. It’s like a glorious cascade of hot pink chiffon. I am obsessed. And it’s really hard not to be happy while you are wearing that much pink.

Back In Town

I’m home! My first day home was the perfect balance of relaxing and busy. I woke up at the crack of 10 and saw my best friend before she left on vacation, went with my mother to get her hair done, and then did some grocery shopping. And, I am completely ignoring the fact that school starts in a few weeks. It’s still summer, and tax free weekend hasn’t happened yet. So I am still on vacation. There.

Sounds Like a Challenge

Some days are just a little slower than others. Yesterday, I tumbled out of bed and wandered around the house all morning until I realized that it was noon an we hadn’t done anything nor made plans to do anything. Then, I remembered that my mom and I had thought about seeing Snow White and the Huntsman. The only problem was that it is not playing in Modesto anymore and the closest place it is playing in Turlock (the next town over, about 30 minutes away). And, there was a show at 12:30. My mom and I were thinking about going to either that show, or the one at 3:30 when my grandma said, “Oh you can’t go to the 12:30 one, you’ll never make it”. Well, that made up our minds and we decided to go for the 12:30. And we made it with 5 minutes to spare!

P. S. Chris Hemsworth is lookin’ mighty fine that the movie.

Sidewalk to Catwalk

The other day, I had the opportunity to go to the De Young Museum in San Francisco where Jean Paul Gaultier had hundreds of his creations on display in his Sidewalk to Catwalk exhibit. It was such an amazing exposition, and I was so happy that I was able to go. The exhibit not only had a ton of his clothes, but it also showed his fashion shows, his photography, and movies where his garments were featured. This exhibit was so well done and if anyone is in San Francisco, I highly recommend going to see it.

Photo cred to my sister.
