Oh Hey

Pardon my cliche fall post, but HELLO FALL! The cool weather has finally hit the south and I will admit that it feels fantastic. But not as fantastic as it felt to dig out this sweater from my closet- I bought this last spring at J. Crew and I have been dying to wear it. But I feel like people would question me if I pulled it out while the temperatures were still in the triple digits. I’ll admit- when I woke up this morning and say that it was 43 degrees, I was like, “um, no thanks, not today”, but I came around as soon as I discovered this little ensemble. Today when my college counselor asked me how I was, I practically screamed at him that I was “embracing fall”. Well. This outfit just seemed so fall-ish to me that I needed to tell someone. And I needed that person to appreciate it. So there.

The French Quarter

So on my final day in New Orleans, I got to do typical tourist stuff: go eat beignets at Cafe du Monde, explore artwork on the sidewalks, and peak into the mardi gras stores that line the streets of the French Quarter. I loved my short little vacation there and I definitely hope that one day I can go back. In this outfit, I tried to channel my inner French girl, which definitely meant that I needed a striped sweater and a red silk scarf.

P.S. Sorry for the crazy hair and face- it was a very, very late night at the game.

Love Will Not Break Your Heart, but Dismiss Your Fears

Some nights you just need to listen to Mumford and Sons. So much soul. I love this dress- It is so comfortable to wear all day! I just needed to add the scarf and a sweater to make it through school! Temperatures are arctic in my school building. Sometimes I even have to carry around a blanket. But back to the outfit- one of my favorites! Perfect go-to for a late morning.

School Days, School Days

I survived the first half of my week! But it is seriously exhausting. Now I know why old people are so tired all the time… I don’t really have anything witty to say. I used all my brain power while I was at school. Sorry y’all. I promise I will try and sleep up to become my fabulous, funny self once again (just kidding).

Maybe it’s because I’ve been watching High School Musical and Disney melted my brain. Peace out

Working Girl

One of my favorite trends this Spring/ Summer is the shorts suit. I really just love the whole look of a blazer with shorts. So here is my take on it! For the past week and a half, I have been an intern at Justine Magazine.  I really love working there, but it has left me exhausted! So I am really sorry that I haven’t been able to do a lot of posting lately. School starts soon, so hopefully y’all can see all my back-to-school outfits!

Castle on a Cloud

One place that we always go to while we are in Monterey is Big Sur. The views are spectacular, the restaurants are delicious, and the company is great. One of our favorites is called Ventana. There is this gorgeous terrace, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. You feel so high up that it is almost like you’re on a cloud. And the food is wonderful, too!

The Power of Positive Thinking

So yesterday I flew to California! Woo! I had to wake up at 4:00 a.m. to catch my 6:00 a.m. flight to Atlanta, and then flew from Atlanta to San Francisco! California is seriously one of the greatest places ever, and even though I come here twice a year, I never get tired of it. But I was incredibly tired after my day yesterday. Because California is 2 hours behind, so when you think it’s 9 o’clock and a semi-reasonable time to go to bed, it’s really only 7 o’clock. But I mustered through it and here I am. As soon as we get into San Fran, it is a tradition for my Grandpa to take my mother, sister, and me to Nordstrom and eat at the cafe there (we also do a little shopping). So, after we finished eating, I wanted to go look at all the makeup- because lately I’ve had some obsession with makeup counters. I went straight to the YSL and found this gorgeous red lipstick. Now, normally, I don’t wear red lipstick on a day-to-day basis. But, once I found this one (#18 red taboo), everything changed. I fell in love. But, when the lady went behind the counter to look for it, THEY WERE OUT. I was devastated. Fortunately, the anniversary sale is coming up, so what better excuse than that to go back?

P.S. I never got to do an complete photo shoot because I passed out as soon as I got to the house, so all of these were either taken at the airport, on my computer on the plane, or in the car. SORRY
