Oh Hey

Pardon my cliche fall post, but HELLO FALL! The cool weather has finally hit the south and I will admit that it feels fantastic. But not as fantastic as it felt to dig out this sweater from my closet- I bought this last spring at J. Crew and I have been dying to wear it. But I feel like people would question me if I pulled it out while the temperatures were still in the triple digits. I’ll admit- when I woke up this morning and say that it was 43 degrees, I was like, “um, no thanks, not today”, but I came around as soon as I discovered this little ensemble. Today when my college counselor asked me how I was, I practically screamed at him that I was “embracing fall”. Well. This outfit just seemed so fall-ish to me that I needed to tell someone. And I needed that person to appreciate it. So there.

The French Quarter

So on my final day in New Orleans, I got to do typical tourist stuff: go eat beignets at Cafe du Monde, explore artwork on the sidewalks, and peak into the mardi gras stores that line the streets of the French Quarter. I loved my short little vacation there and I definitely hope that one day I can go back. In this outfit, I tried to channel my inner French girl, which definitely meant that I needed a striped sweater and a red silk scarf.

P.S. Sorry for the crazy hair and face- it was a very, very late night at the game.

Tiger Bait

This weekend I got to go to New Orleans! A ton of my mom’s family went to the University of Washington, who just do happened to be playing LSU this weekend! And I will take any excuse to go to New Orleans. While I dressed ambiguously to avoid any heckling, my cousins were decked out in their UDUB attire, so nearly every LSU fan we passed yelled “TIGER BAIT” at us. But that was to be expected. We stayed at the lovely Waldorf Astoria in the French Quarter and ate some of the best food! I can’t wait to go back!

Laborless Weekend

Let me just tell you about my weekend- even though its wednesday… Well it was a long weekend so I’m not too off, right? Ok well I got to go down to Starkville with my family to see the Mississippi State Bulldogs beat Jackson State! And we had a fabulous tailgate and after party🙂 Then, when I came home, a bunch of friends and I headed to fair! Except when we got there it started POURING rain. So we got soaking wet, but still had a great time! It was so much fun to just have a weekend where I got to see my friends and family. It doesn’t matter what happens when you are having fun with the people around you!!

Polished

For some reason, this outfit just seems really polished. And really, really preppy. Going to private school does that to a girl. AND I got my hair cut! I love getting my hair cut because it leaves it so shiny and blown-out. So let me have my hair post and please don’t judge. I’m just so darned excited.

Ooh La La

This scarf. Is my favorite thing. I know I say about half my wardrobe is my favorite thing, but there is just something about this scarf- a certain je ne sais quoi– that i just adore. Plus I bought it in Paris so it gets automatic props. Sorry I haven’t been posting as much as usual. I am still getting back in the swing of things with school/ repeating outfits and I am too embarrassed to post about repeats. I’m working on it, y’all.

P. S. I’m still looking deathly pale. Sorry ’bout that.

Love Will Not Break Your Heart, but Dismiss Your Fears

Some nights you just need to listen to Mumford and Sons. So much soul. I love this dress- It is so comfortable to wear all day! I just needed to add the scarf and a sweater to make it through school! Temperatures are arctic in my school building. Sometimes I even have to carry around a blanket. But back to the outfit- one of my favorites! Perfect go-to for a late morning.

School Days, School Days

I survived the first half of my week! But it is seriously exhausting. Now I know why old people are so tired all the time… I don’t really have anything witty to say. I used all my brain power while I was at school. Sorry y’all. I promise I will try and sleep up to become my fabulous, funny self once again (just kidding).

Maybe it’s because I’ve been watching High School Musical and Disney melted my brain. Peace out

First Day of the Rest of My Life

I started senior year! Woo I’m so old! Crazy! But it was a good first day- we had a big breakfast with my whole class this morning and then we had a half day of school. But let me tell you- I am EXHAUSTED! Who knew being a senior was so tiring?
