Oh Hey

Pardon my cliche fall post, but HELLO FALL! The cool weather has finally hit the south and I will admit that it feels fantastic. But not as fantastic as it felt to dig out this sweater from my closet- I bought this last spring at J. Crew and I have been dying to wear it. But I feel like people would question me if I pulled it out while the temperatures were still in the triple digits. I’ll admit- when I woke up this morning and say that it was 43 degrees, I was like, “um, no thanks, not today”, but I came around as soon as I discovered this little ensemble. Today when my college counselor asked me how I was, I practically screamed at him that I was “embracing fall”. Well. This outfit just seemed so fall-ish to me that I needed to tell someone. And I needed that person to appreciate it. So there.

The French Quarter

So on my final day in New Orleans, I got to do typical tourist stuff: go eat beignets at Cafe du Monde, explore artwork on the sidewalks, and peak into the mardi gras stores that line the streets of the French Quarter. I loved my short little vacation there and I definitely hope that one day I can go back. In this outfit, I tried to channel my inner French girl, which definitely meant that I needed a striped sweater and a red silk scarf.

P.S. Sorry for the crazy hair and face- it was a very, very late night at the game.

Love Will Not Break Your Heart, but Dismiss Your Fears

Some nights you just need to listen to Mumford and Sons. So much soul. I love this dress- It is so comfortable to wear all day! I just needed to add the scarf and a sweater to make it through school! Temperatures are arctic in my school building. Sometimes I even have to carry around a blanket. But back to the outfit- one of my favorites! Perfect go-to for a late morning.

At the Rodeo

Last night, I went to the fair with my two godsons (7-year-old twin boys) and their sister (9), who was supposed to be in the rodeo. Unfortunately, her horse was hurt and unable to perform. Afterwards, though, we went out and rode some rides and ate fair food and had a wonderful time. As soon as I was asked to go to the rodeo, I knew I had to wear my cowboy boots. It’s a rodeo for Pete’s sake. So I fit right in with all the real cowboys 🙂

Little Sailor Girl

Happy 4th of July! I am back in Modesto, but I get to go back to the beach next week. A lot of my family is coming to my grandparents house today and we wanted to be around for the festivities. Here are some photos of what I wore over the past two days. I actually made my dad stop the car when we drove by the little meadow on our way home.

Giants Among Men

After my 20 hour day on Wednesday, a little time off was exactly what I needed. I cannot think of any place better than my grandparents house. It is so relaxing just to be on vacation. And being in California can’t hurt either! But, we didn’t stay in one place for too long because yesterday, my family, my cousin, her baby, my grandpa, and two of my uncles went to a San Francisco Giants game! It was such a beautiful day and I had a great time. And a fight almost broke out (which I though was really exciting). Now I am at my beach house so get ready for some seriously scenic pictures.

P.S. You’re supposed to wear cowboy boots to a baseball game, right?
