Bisous Ma Cherie

Y’ALL my sister is leaving for college! And it was my dad’s birthday! AND my friends came in from Kenya and we all went out to dinner. We went to one of my favorite restaurants in Midtown and we had the best time. It was so fun to all be together and just have a great time. I really love going to Midtown because it has such a different vibe than out here in the suburbs. But today I start my FINAL YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL! How crazy is that?! Y’all can follow all my adventures on instagram @maddiesee13 because I take pictures of everything!

P.S. I was originally going to name this post 50 Ways to Wear a Black Bustier because I wear this top so much. But it’s just so darn cute!

P.P.S. I am looking crazy pale in these pictures. I’m tan, I promise.

Hot Pink

Yesterday was my last day of my internship! Sad face! But is was seriously one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I learned so much from all the fabulous women at the magazine and I’m hoping I can go back and work for them again! But enough sadness. I got to wear my favorite skirt yesterday! This skirt is SO flowy, and whenever I walk, it seriously has the prettiest flow behind me. It’s like a glorious cascade of hot pink chiffon. I am obsessed. And it’s really hard not to be happy while you are wearing that much pink.

Cute as a Button

When you don’t know what to wear, go with a button down. They go with everything, and make everything look classically chic. That plus my favorite J. Crew skirt makes for a perfect summer work outfit.

Working Girl

One of my favorite trends this Spring/ Summer is the shorts suit. I really just love the whole look of a blazer with shorts. So here is my take on it! For the past week and a half, I have been an intern at Justine Magazine.  I really love working there, but it has left me exhausted! So I am really sorry that I haven’t been able to do a lot of posting lately. School starts soon, so hopefully y’all can see all my back-to-school outfits!

Lavender Honey Cupcakes

Alright, y’all- I finally made my very first Pinterest baking craft! My friend and I made these super good cupcakes that we found on Pinterest! I was kind of skeptical about them at first, because I haven’t really ever though of lavender as a food. It was always something just growing in my backyard or something I keep in my drawers. But it honestly makes food 10000 times better. And the honey in the frosting is just the most amazing thing to go with it. Now, honey and lavender are one of my favorite flavor combinations. And, these cupcakes just seemed to ladylike and girly! So, to recap:

1. Lavender can be used as food

2. Honey + Lavender = Heaven

3. Don’t be afraid to try something new and crazy-sounding! It could turn out to be the best thing you have ever put in your mouth.

On Pointe

Yes, I have worn this dress before. But it’s seriously one of my favorite pieces of my clothing. It is such a ballerina dress with its soft pink color and circle skirt. So of course I had to have a messy bun and delicate gold accents. So girly. So romantic. So ME!

P.S. Sorry I haven’t been able to post a lot lately. I’ve been working on all the summer work I have to get done before school starts. And I applied to COLLEGE! Woo small victories.

Flashback

I put on this outfit yesterday morning and I realized that it is almost identical to what I wore in Paris when I went to France for a month last summer. I bought this scarf at this adorable little boutique in Paris and it is seriously one of my favorite pieces of clothing. It is super versatile and unique- it was the only one in the little shop!

Flowers in Your Hair

Hello everyone! It is so good to be home, but it is soo hot. Like oppressively hot. I walked outside, and the heat and humidity hit me in the face like a ton of bricks. So I needed to wear something light and breathable. Enter: this skirts. Linen is the perfect material for the heat because it is super light and airy. But I really wanted to wear some more color so I had to wear my favorite floral scarf I got at an outdoor market in Paris.

P. S. Props to my sister for letting me wear her flower clip.

Back In Town

I’m home! My first day home was the perfect balance of relaxing and busy. I woke up at the crack of 10 and saw my best friend before she left on vacation, went with my mother to get her hair done, and then did some grocery shopping. And, I am completely ignoring the fact that school starts in a few weeks. It’s still summer, and tax free weekend hasn’t happened yet. So I am still on vacation. There.

SFO –> MEM

Yesterday was a long day of travel. Luckily, we were able to get a nonstop flight from San Francisco to Memphis. We were even able to get exit row seats! My six-foot frame appreciated that. So it actually was not that bad. But I am definitely glad to be home and able to recover from my amazing trip.
